On Tuesday 21 October 2025 at 7 pm, the exhibition Assonanze e dissonanze musive by Giuliano Babini, Giovanna Galli and Paolo Racagni opens at Galleria Studio Cenacchi, Via Santo Stefano 63, Bologna. The exhibition is part of the 9th edition of the Biennale of Contemporary Mosaic (18 October 2025 – 18 January 2026).

Curated by Sandro Malossini, with a critical text by the curator included in the catalogue, the exhibition runs until Thursday 30 October and is open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday, 4.30–7.30 pm. Free admission.

The exhibition forms part of a wider project dedicated to contemporary mosaic rooted in the Ravenna tradition, presented across several galleries with the aim of creating a journey through different stylistic approaches.

The exhibition

Formal rules elude strict execution, leaving space for creative instinct. The technical mastery of constructing image through the proximity of tesserae is no longer the defining language of these artists, who instead adopt a deliberately unconventional use of materials—whether glass paste, marble or others—to give form and immediacy to emotions rather than to representation as such.

The event

The project is promoted and organised jointly by the Municipality of Ravenna – Department of Culture, MAR – Museum of Art of the City of Ravenna, and Galleria Studio Cenacchi, together with CARP Associazione di Promozione Sociale, in collaboration with Spazio Espositivo Pallavicini 22 Art Gallery, Archivio Collezione Ghigi-Pagnani, and Felsina Factory.

The exhibition is held under the patronage of the Legislative Assembly of the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Academy of Fine Arts of Ravenna, and the Port Authority of the Central-Northern Adriatic Sea, with the support of SAGEM srl.
