ARTIST
Francesco Bocchini
Born in Cesena in 1969, Francesco Bocchini’s practice has long centred on the use of sheet metal and enamelled iron to create elementary mechanical devices. Mechanisms, installations, display cases and hybrid constructions — often in painted iron — define a body of work suspended between irony, mystery and drama. Since the mid-1990s, his work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad, in both private galleries and public institutions. He lives and works in Gambettola (Cesena).
In 2018 he took part in RE.USE – Scarti, oggetti, ecologia nell’arte contemporanea in Treviso, curated by Valerio Dehò.
In 2017 he was invited to Modus, a collateral event of the 57th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, curated by Eleonora Frattarolo and Martina Cavallarin. Among earlier group exhibitions in public venues:
Round the Clock, collateral event of the 54th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, curated by Martina Cavallarin
