On Tuesday 12 May 2026, Galleria Studio Cenacchi, Bologna, presents Interni, a solo exhibition by Maurizio Tangerini. The exhibition opens at 6 pm at Studio Iusgate, Via Castiglione 81, third floor.

Interni brings together works from different stages of Tangerini’s practice. Earlier paintings, with their more precise and controlled compositions, are shown alongside recent works in which the paint becomes freer, animated by splashes, drips and sudden passages of light.

Corridors, windows, tables and quiet rooms are not used to tell a story. Instead, Tangerini turns them into suspended spaces shaped by light. Light guides the eye and continually alters our perception of the surroundings, giving each interior a quiet, intimate presence.

In his most recent works, Tangerini gradually moves away from tightly structured compositions towards a more atmospheric approach. Gesture and material become increasingly important, playing an active part in the way each image takes shape.
