Born in Bologna in 1971, Luca Madera is an engineer who received his first camera at the age of eight. He began photographing more consciously at eleven, during a long stay in the mountains. He resumed his photographic practice in the late 1990s, studying technique in depth and closely analysing the work of major photographers. Between 2004 and 2006 he exhibited in Bologna and Cesena in a number of solo and group exhibitions.
