ARTIST
Pietro Caponetti
Pietro Caponetti was born in Bologna in 1982. He belongs to a younger generation of Bolognese artists and has taken part in several solo and group exhibitions in Bologna and Milan, including at Palazzo Borromeo. He graduated in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. He began his artistic path by recording, through drawings in notebooks, every aspect of art and life surrounding him—from the vibrant art scene of New York, where he spent extended periods of study and research, to the hills of Montalcino. There, in a Renaissance villa designed by Baldassarre Peruzzi, he apprenticed with one of the last master restorers, learning the ancient technique of fresco and, subsequently, the strappo method. This technique, reinterpreted through his contemporary sensibility, has become a central element of his artistic practice.
