On Saturday 30 November 2024 at 5 pm, the first floor of Galleria Studio Cenacchi presents a selection of photographs portraying some of the great stars of the Dolce Vita era. A number of these works were recently shown at ArtVerona, where they attracted considerable public interest.

The photographs come from the collection of Fabrizio Tittocchia, born in 1960 and a lifelong cinema enthusiast. After more than forty years of professional life, he began collecting film stills and photographs, with a particular interest in the years of the Dolce Vita.

His collection now numbers more than 300 photographs, including works by some of the leading photographers of the period: Tazio Secchiaroli, Pierluigi Praturlon, Giovan Battista Poletto, Angelo Frontoni, Angelo Novi, Giancolombo, Velio Cioni, Rodrigo Pais, Michelangelo Durazzo, Glauco Cortini, Aldo Durazzi and others.

The exhibition brings together images that have become part of the visual history of Italian and international cinema in the 1950s and 1960s. Among them are photographs of Aïché Nana’s celebrated striptease at the Rugantino nightclub in Rome on 5 November 1958, Vittorio Gassman and Catherine Spaak during the filming of Il sorpasso, and Anita Ekberg in La dolce vita.

These iconic scenes are shown alongside portraits of some of the era’s most recognisable stars, including Alain Delon, Marcello Mastroianni, Virna Lisi, Raquel Welch and Audrey Hepburn.
