These photographs are taken from the volume Dall’Irlanda dopo Londonderry. In this work, Butturini engages in a more classical form of photo-reportage, documenting the tragic events of those days while positioning himself on the side of those who suffer. Within an atmosphere that is constantly tense and threatening—marked by barricades, barbed wire, armed soldiers and burned cars—he also portrays, with empathy and sensitivity, many children: innocent victims growing up amidst conflict and hardship.
