Il mio gesto di cura — Charity Exhibition in Support of Fondazione Sant’Orsola
Il mio gesto di cura is a charity exhibition in support of the work of Fondazione Sant’Orsola, hosted by Galleria Studio Cenacchi from Thursday 28 September to Sunday 1 October 2023.
The exhibition opens on Thursday 28 September, from 6 to 9 pm. Opening hours on Friday 29 September, Saturday 30 September and Sunday 1 October are 4.30–7.30 pm.
Seven artists are taking part, each presenting two works.
Pietro Caponetti is a painter known for his large-scale depictions of familiar and exotic animals. His works are created by applying layers of plaster to canvas.
Photographer Elena Franco presents a project centred on seventeenth- and eighteenth-century volumes from the former Monte di Pietà archive, now held by the Fondazione del Monte di Bologna e Ravenna. The books she photographs share two distinctive features: an image of the Pietà painted on the upper edge of the pages and a passionflower — symbol of the Passion of Christ — decorating the leather binding.
Painter Domenico Grenci creates portraits and female faces that are melancholic, sensual, mysterious and fragile. Working in charcoal and bitumen on canvas and paper, he captures complex and shifting emotional states.
Photographer Simone Martinetto presents works created during his time as a film-set photographer. Rather than focusing on actors, he turns his attention to the often unseen people behind cinema — editors, technicians, stunt performers and others whose work takes place away from the spotlight.
Sculptor Paolo Migliazza works in concrete and plaster. His intense human figures often bear the traces of suffering, their eyes obscured or turned inwards, as though searching the depths of their own inner world.
Landscape photographer Marco Rigamonti presents works from his photobook Periplo siciliano. His images reveal details of a scorching, sun-drenched Sicily, far removed from familiar routes and conventional views of the island.
Painter Alessandro Saturno presents landscapes in oil and acrylic on canvas and paper. His images emerge like mirages through delicate layers of paint and finely balanced contrasts of colour.
