Nature Alternative
8 November 2025 > 10 January 2026
On Saturday 8 November at 6 pm, at Via Santo Stefano 63, the exhibition Nature Alternative opens. Curated by Pasquale Fameli, who also authored the critical text, the exhibition brings together fifteen works.
The works engage in a constructive dialogue with the three levels of the gallery and with one another. From the textures created by Zeno Bertozzi in plaster or ceramic to the iron sheet works by Francesco Bocchini, who is also present with a piece from a recent and innovative series on porcelain. From the poetic, dreamlike representations of nature by Domenico Grenci and Alessandro Saturno to the material “jungles” of Pietro Caponetti, which seem to emerge from a distant past. The exhibition is further enriched by a small yet intense work by Giorgio Zucchini, selected as the key image of the show.
As the curator writes:
“In the contemporary landscape, dominated by the dematerialisation of images and their incessant digital circulation, the relationship between art and nature reasserts itself as an urgent and necessary question. At a time when visual experience seems to have lost both substance and focus, the artists in this exhibition choose to restore a profound dialogue with matter, understood not only as a subject to be represented but as a living organism to be questioned and transformed.”
And further:
“It is an ‘other’ nature—no longer to be contemplated, but to be interrogated: it offers no answers, but raises questions. Within this imagined landscape, the viewer is invited to lose themselves, to recognise in the otherness of a flower, a leaf, a branch, something deeply human. ‘Alternative nature’ thus becomes a metaphor for our contemporary condition: fragile, shifting, and in search of new roots.”
