EXHIBITION
Opentour 2019
17 June > 22 June 2019
Open Tour is a week-long celebration of art, from 17 to 22 June, during which the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna opens to the public and extends into numerous exhibition spaces across the city, offering the opportunity to discover the work developed by students and teachers.
Galleria Studio Cenacchi takes part in the programme with the group exhibition CROCEVIA, curated by Prof. Beatrice Buscaroli.
The exhibition focuses on the many techniques of printmaking — from etching and aquatint to lithography and screen printing — forming part of the rich tradition of “grafica d’arte”, historically rooted in Bologna through masters such as Giorgio Morandi and Luciano De Vita.
Over time, this tradition has evolved through experimentation and cross-disciplinary approaches, allowing students of the Academy to reach a remarkably high level of expressive depth. The exhibition highlights how, even within the logic of reproducibility, artistic creation demands rigorous control and precision — not least because every mark on the matrix is irreversible.
The works on display are by nine students from the courses of Professors Maria Agata Amato, Manuela Candini and Annamaria Stanghellini:
Sahar Akrami – Donne, engravings (toner transfer)
Greta Bonfiglioli – La regina degli zingari, artist’s book (monotypes on zinc plates)
Luca Degli Esposti – Discissioni, artist’s book (drypoint on tetrapack)
Elisa Negroni – Movimenti, engravings (aquatint on zinc)
Gabriella Presutto – Tessere la cura, artist’s book (gaufrage)
Amirah Suboh – Untitled, engravings (etching and soft ground)
Eleonora Terzi – Garanzia, engraving (aquatint and mixed techniques)
Rachele Turini – Come fosse pagliuzza, engravings (etching)
Along Wang – Distanza di libertà, engravings (mixed media)
A jury composed of Lorenzo Balbi (artistic director of MAMbo), collector Paola Giovanardi Rossi, and Simone Menegoi will evaluate the works and award two prizes:
– the Critics’ Prize, funded by Banca di Bologna, with acquisition of the selected work
– the Collectors’ Prize, funded by a group of Bolognese collectors, with acquisition for the emerging artists’ collection of MAMbo
The exhibition reflects a vibrant and evolving field, where tradition is continuously reinterpreted through new artistic voices.
