On the upper floor of the gallery, three video installations focus on the body, mediated and preserved through the photographic medium—bodies tested physically while reflecting mental processes.

Andrea De Angelis’s video work, Scan burn with me, presents a sequence of analogue photographs manipulated by the artist through scratching, cutting and burning individual frames until the negative is destroyed. The work reflects on memory and the physical medium that preserves it, and is installed in dialogue with the mural paintings that characterise the exhibition space.

In Tentativo di Capriola, Sofia Gala Finotto performs before the camera, attempting an exercise she has never managed to complete, one that has caused her frustration and anxiety since childhood. In the video, the artist repeatedly tries to execute a full somersault in front of an unseen but judging audience, whose voices are heard off-screen. The work emphasises each action, her expressions of anxiety and moments of hesitation.

In Prasopagnosia by Mika Sollecito, the protagonist appears passive, seated in a barber’s chair. The action unfolds in a sparse, almost clinical setting, defined by a few elements, including a functioning record player. The narrative gradually develops into a dystopian scenario, culminating in the protagonist alone before a mirror, stripped of all accessories. The barber figure disappears, revealed as nothing more than his alter ego.

On the lower floor, the interactive performance Transito by Andrea Boschini, Silvia Campostrini and Chiara Vitofrancesco invites direct audience engagement. The installation is based on the concept of “dream” as a generative desire, conceived as a container-event in which each performer contributes a distinct element. The video work is projected across the walls of the space, where webcams capture visitors in real time, allowing them to interact with the projections and recognise their bodies as generators of interference. The projected images consist of video clips of liminal spaces—sites of transition and connection—evoking a sense of unease and nostalgia.
