Morena Pedrini’s work draws inspiration from the multiple forms of the mineral and vegetal world, entering their interstices and following the subtle traces that emerge on the surface. Her worked papers, punctured by constellations of tiny holes and marked by barely perceptible reliefs, appear constantly different thanks to the shifting and unpredictable relationship between materiality and transparency, between creative intention and chance. Delicate incisions — sometimes emphasised, sometimes softened by graphite — suggest a third dimension.

Her frottages, made with pencil or self-produced pigments, dissolve into layers of overlaps and erasures, losing their original forms and leaving behind indistinct traces, like fossils of stratified thoughts. Light is a fundamental protagonist of Pedrini’s installations. Drawings and engravings become both concrete and imaginative instruments for capturing it. From the encounter between a sheet and a ray of light emerges the richness and mysterious beauty of these works — a silent, luminous concert.
