At a particularly difficult time, marked by widespread concern and an almost suspended sense of time, Studio Cenacchi presents DREAMS, a group exhibition running from 5 February to 12 March 2020.

The hope is that the exhibition can welcome many visitors — in the safe environment provided by the gallery — and, as with the shows organised during the previous pandemic winters, offer a moment of serenity and escape, surrounded by a diverse selection of works by established artists.

The exhibition brings together twelve artists, each represented by one work.

The selection ranges from a painting by the distinguished Bologna artist Giorgio Zucchini (b. 1939), recently celebrated with the major retrospective I miei occhi ardevano, curated by Sandro Malossini at the Legislative Assembly of the Emilia-Romagna Region, to one of the most recent works by the prominent Emilia-Romagna artist Maurizio Tangerini.

It includes a black-and-white photograph by the well-known Bologna photographer Guido Piacentini (b. 1934), alongside L.O.V.E. by Piedmontese architect and photographer Elena Franco. The work received an award at MIA – Milan Image Art Fair in 2020 and was exhibited the following year both at MIA and at the international Mesiac fotografie festival in Bratislava.

Also on display is one of the largest paintings on canvas by Augusto Gadea, a young Uruguayan artist who has already developed a distinctive and highly original visual language, as well as a work by Modena-based artist Daniele Cabri, created by burning into animal hide with a pyrography tool. Cabri was recently the subject of the major solo exhibition AD LUNAM at the gallery.

The exhibition is completed by an elusive and refined work on perforated and worked paper by Morena Pedrini; an equally delicate and elegant work on paper by Elena Latini; a large-scale painting by Fiorenza Puggioni; and distinctive photographic works by Diego Macrì, Marco Rigamonti and Luigi Vigliotti.
