The photographs on display are among the most significant images from London by Gian Butturini. The photobook soon acquired cult status in the world of photojournalism, offering a very different view of Swinging London, far removed from the glamorous image usually associated with the period.
A photographer and graphic designer, Butturini set out to portray a city beyond the familiar stereotypes, capturing its social contrasts and contradictions. He combined photography with written texts and graphic interventions, shaping the book itself into an integral part of his visual narrative.
